Here at Wattledowns Community Kindy in Manurewa, we have a warm, caring environment with excellent teacher to child ratios.
We have a fantastic team of qualified and caring teachers that promote an open door policy, where parents and the wider community are part of the centre culture.
Our childcare centre promotes healthy eating and has visits at regular intervals from the dental nurse and hearing and vision tests to ensure that our children’s well being is nurtured. The link between the local schools and the centre is strengthened by having information from local school held in the parent library which is readily available to our whanau.
Our centre fosters a multi cultural environment where festivities like Matariki, Chinese New Year and Diwali are celebrated with pride and commitment to our children and parents.
The centre actively invites and encourages the wider community to take part in the learning journey of our children by providing educational programs and special centre visits where the children get to interact and learn.
We hold educational nights such as Parent-Teacher evenings where the teachers proudly present the children’s learning and development in the form of portfolios. Parents share their expectations of the children’s learning and the teachers act as facilitators to build on the children’s interest and strengths.
