For happy confident learners
Early Years Redwood is located on the corners of Main Rd and Redwood Ave, Tawa. We are just two minutes walk from the train station and five minutes walk from Tawa shops.
The complex has a unique layout where each age group is cared for in a separate centre allowing teachers to cater specifically for the individual needs of Infants, Toddlers and Preschool children.
Infants Centre provides education and care for up to 21 children. This small number allows teachers to provide a safe and nurturing environment where infants are encouraged and supported to develop at their own pace - allowing time, freedom of movement and space to ensure this is possible.
Infants own daily rhythms are followed in order to promote continuity between home and centre life. Our team of professional teachers are passionate about teaching children of this age group and this is clearly evident through their excellent programme and delightful interactions with the children. The teaching team believes that parents have a wealth of knowledge in regards to their children and work collaboratively to provide an environment that caters to the individual needs of the children.
Toddlers Centre caters for up to 32 children. Teachers ensure children’s needs are being met whilst also encouraging children to become confident and competent learners through promotion of self help skills and independence. Our toddler teachers are committed to ensuring that children are stimulated and that their learning is supported and extended at all times. Our teachers have those special skills required when dealing with children who are becoming active explorers of their environment and extending their social skills.
Preschool Centre caters for up to 32 children. This centre is well equipped with resources and the environment caters for the needs of all of our preschoolers, including children with high energy levels. Our teachers help to guide the continuation of children’s growing independence through positive reinforcement and role modeling appropriate behaviour. The centre programme promotes activities and teaching strategies, which enhance the development of problem solving, independence and socialising to ensure a smooth transition to school.

Parent Feedback:
"To the amazing team at Early Years Redwood, I would just like to say
an extremely big thank you for making our time with your centre so
great. Linkon has attended Toddlers in the complex for just over a year
now and since day one, he has been accepted with open arms and had an
absolute blast. His teachers in that time
have been so supportive and always given great feedback, Sarah the
Manager always gets involved and is so friendly and Denise in admin has
always been so helpful and efficient with any requests we have had....It
has been so lovely to see Linkon grow and learn so much in his time at
your centre and we as a family are incredibly grateful for everything
over the last year or so." - April 2012 - click here to read the full letter!
"My daughter has attended Early Years Childcare since she was 18 months of age. Sara the Manager of the centre, whenever there is a problem, she is there for you and your child/ren. Being a solo mother who has had Cancer, both Sara and Denise the office manager have been very supportive, customer focused, patient and always there to assist in any way. Toddlers and Preschool staff - are exceptional, always assisting, supporting and providing such a caring environment that you know your child will be safe and well cared for. I would recommend Early Years childcare Tawa centre team to all my friends and families"- April 2012
"Firstly,
I would like to comment on Jing and her Staff, in particular, Lily,
Jean, Rochelle & Carrie. They are a credit to the Infants
playcentre, they are committed to what they do so well, looking after
our children. Jing is a wonderful head teacher and she leads her team
with great passion and enthusiasm. The events that she has
organised during the year with her team shows great involvement with
the children, parents and staff. Lily, is amazing with my son TJ and
encourages his learning in the Island culture by speaking Samoan to him
and ensuring that is part of his learning development. The team
certainly make the Early Years Redwood Infants playcentre a place that
is inviting, warm and engaging for myself and my family." - January 2012
