Edukids Flat Bush School Rd is a brand new purpose built centre set to open in February. It is set on the corner of Flat Bush School Rd and Arranmore Drive, where a number of beautiful new housing developments are underway, including parks for families to enjoy.
Edukids while being set in what will be a further developed community is still a very rural area. With Murphys Bush just up the Rd and open parks in development we are looking forward to taking advantage of discovering the natural environment within this immediate community.
Edukids will cater for children from 3 months right through to their first day of school. Children will move between 3 rooms over this time with quality group sizes of 25 children per room. The fourth room will offer a Kindergarten service for children wanting to attend 4 hour sessions. During their time with us, respectful, caring and meaningful teachers will interact and support your child's learning. They will have freshly cooked meals prepared by the centre chef onsite. The programs will all be based around supporting children's foundation skills or learning to prepare them for school/formal education and the all important life long skills required
If you are unfamiliar with where we are, here are a few distances that I thought might help. We are a short 8 min scenic drive from Whitford or just over quarter of an hour from Maraetai. If you like to shop or work near the local malls we are an 8 min drive to both Botany Town Centre and Manukau City Westfield.
Our doors are always open to you and your family. Please feel free to
contact us to arrange a visit. We look forward to meeting you
discussing how we can help your child on the path to becoming a happy,
confident learner.
Centre Manager March 2012 Update:
Hi My name is Jo, wow what an exciting couple of months..
We opened on the 20 February 2012 and have been having a brilliant time ever since. The team has settled in really nicely with 3 qualified teachers plus my self now providing a fun and educational program.
If you haven’t come up to see us yet but have been thinking about it, I encourage you to pop in for a visit ideally between 9am and 2pm so that some one is available to give you a guided tour and to ensure that we have the time to answer your questions. We have an open door policy, so you're more than welcome to visit anytime.
Settling a child into any new environment can be a daunting experience for any parent and child and we were expecting to have some challenges with a group of new children all starting on the first day.. But after holding transition mornings that we still encourage, the children have really surprised us. We have only had 3 children who have found the transition difficult however after 2 weeks, they are settled, have made friends and are actively participating in the programme. Two of these children had been living overseas with extended family and speaking another language up until a month before they started with us, so this successful two week transition, has been an amazing accomplishment for these children!
We have now firmly introduced “Primary Caregivers” (which is a teacher assigned to meet the immediate needs of each individual child) and we believe that this has really helped both children and families to feel safe and secure in this new environment.
The settled children are feeling confident that they have a place here within the Edukids family, this was proven at a recent childrens’ meeting, where they decided that we should have a party! Naturally we felt that this was entirely appropriate as we had heaps to celebrate so we had a party! Check out the pictures!
