“Where your dreams for your child can
become a reality”
Edukids
Riverbend is set on the edge of the green belt in Napier close to several local
primary schools and the surrounding suburbs, and is only a 5 minute drive from
the city centre. We are only a short walk away from Marewa Park
where we like to take our children on excursions for picnics, games and playing
at the park.
Our centre opened its doors in January
2010. We are a fantastic purpose built centre with excellent facilities
including a gym. We make great use of this and it is a lifesaver during those
winter wet days. We offer 3 separate classroom environments and the ages for
each room are 3 months to 2.5 years for the Kowhai room, 2.5 to 3.5 years for
the Pohutukawa room, and 3.5 to school entry for the Totara room.
At Edukids Riverbend we are a qualified, committed
and experienced team of teachers who collectively have more than 30 years of
experience between us. We boast over 80% registered teachers at all times and
we are very proud of this! This means all of our staff have chosen Early
childhood Teaching as their career, they love what they do and want to be here. We believe this enables us to offer high quality care and education
for your children.
Our
teachers are passionate about establishing strong relationships with the
children and their families and about nurturing children's learning and
development. We have an open door policy for families/whanau and encourage them
to come and spend time in the centre. We
hold regular whanau evenings for all families to attend such as barbeques, fish
and chip/pizza nights, as well as parent teacher interviews twice a year. We
value the aspirations you have for your child and believe that you know your
child best. We use the information we gather from parents/whanau to help inform
us in our planning for children. We believe children learn naturally through play and by forming respectful and
caring relationships with each other, teachers and the environment.
We develop individual education programmes
for all ages as well as group programme planning for all our tamariki. All of our children have individual learning
portfolios that are a living document of their learning journey of the time
they spend at Edukids Riverbend. Our school readiness programme and links with
local schools help us ensure children are prepared with all the skills they
need for school.
We value the outdoor learning environment
and we have an expansive outdoor space for children to explore that is two times the size of Ministry of Education requirements for
children. We enjoy gardening with the
children and have a veggie patch that we tend to with the children, as well as
a few fruit trees planted around the property. Our outdoor environment provides
lots of room for a wide range of activities, such as, climbing & gross
motor activities, ball play, sand play, trikes, gardening, water play, messy play,
painting and lots more!
We welcome you to contact us to arrange an
opportunity to visit us at Edukids Riverbend. We look forward to
meeting you and discussing how we can help your child become a happy, confident
learner.
