First Steps Papamoa is a childcare centre that promotes education, adventure and friendship. We are a purpose built facility located one block away from Papamoa beach on 4 Palm Springs, Blvd, opposite the medical centre in Papamoa East.
We cater for morning and afternoon sessions and full day services, to best meet the needs of your family.
Our qualified and experienced teachers offer enriched learning experiences for every child. They provide a respecting and nurturing environment, where you will receive open communications about your child’s development as they grow.
Our childcare centre is split into 3 areas where your child will receive age related experiences to extend their learning and development. In our Tui Room (infant and toddlers) we focus on “picker philosophy” where we allow your child to develop for themselves in areas such as rolling, sitting, crawling, walking etc. We introduce and use baby sign language with the children as another dimension of communication for this age group.
In our
Kiwi Room (toddlers and preschool) we focus on child initiated learning and developmental opportunities. These range from gaining greater independence, confidence, development of communication and social skills and exploring the environment around them.
In our
Pukeko Prep Room (preschoolers) we focus on an environment preparing children for school. Your child will further extend their social and emotional skills, pre-literacy and numeracy skills and have the opportunity to have pre-visits to local schools where this will ease the transition to school process.
We believe in providing a centre in rich a bi-culturalism, that reflects
te tiriti o Waitangi and
Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum.
