First Steps Waiuku provides a respectful environment for children where they have lots of opportunities for learning and growth. We encourage open communication from parents/whānau and pride ourselves on the partnerships we form to ensure each child receives the best possible education and care.
We have a large outdoor area which provides many opportunities for learning experiences and physical development.
Babies and toddlers are taught baby sign which helps them to communicate their needs to us, keeping them happy whilst helping to develop their language skills. Our school readiness programme prepares our 4 year olds with the skills needed for school.
Our childcare centre provides a warm, safe and friendly environment for our children to grow and develop holistically. Our teachers know how to recognise dispositions and learning outcomes and plan the programme around these. We value parents/whanau contribution to this process as it creates a link between the centre and home.
