With the mountain as a backdrop and miles of picturesque coastline, Taranaki’s largest town, New Plymouth, is a beautiful environment for children to grow up in. Rainbow Lemon Street is an urban preschool on the edge of New Plymouth’s CBD.
Rainbow Lemon Street is a family centre that has been providing quality care and education to Taranaki families for over 15 years. We pride ourselves on children feeling safe and connected with staff and the environment. The “home cooked” meals and inviting atmosphere mean children settle quickly; enjoy their time, and begin their journey to being life long active and engaged learners.
At Rainbow Lemon Street, we cater for up to 70 children per day which is comprised of three areas. The Infants Centre (0-2 years), Toddlers Centre (2-3 years) and Young Children Centre (3-5 years).
Our team is made up of over 20 trained and highly skilled women and men. Over 80% of our teachers hold ECE qualifications and teacher registrations.
Children who attend Lemon Street are offered a large range of extra curriculum activities. We frequently take excursions to stage shows, parks, shops, farms, zoo, kindy gym, beach, airport (and just about anywhere our childrens interests take us!) in our own Rainbow van.
We are also pleased to be able to continue to provide the “Rainbow family” atmosphere after children turn 5. Rainbow Schools Out Central and Rainbow Schools Out Westown are our busy after school and holiday programmes. They provide high quality care for children aged 5 to 14 years.
