Small World is discreetly nestled in a quiet and established
cul-de-sac in Remuera. As a premium early learning centre, we offer
well-maintained, purpose-built indoor and outdoor areas across two age-specific
centres.
Centre One is for your little ones aged under 3 years. Here we draw our
inspiration from the Pikler philosophy, paying particular attention to
reciprocal teaching practices that are respectful of children. This is achieved
through consistent but flexible routines and environments that support children
to learn at their own pace and level.
Centre Two looks towards the next step of your child’s education and is for
children aged 3 and over. Here our practices and programmes are inspired by the
Reggio Emilia philosophy. We recognise and actively promote that children are
capable and competent learners who need space and opportunity to explore and
experiment.
Our core education programme includes specialist motor development
and expressive art sessions led by expert and established teachers in our
purpose-built gym. As the children approach school age, they have the
opportunity to be part of The Enquiry Room. This is a specialised programme for
our four year olds that supports their emerging skills and confidence as they
prepare for school.
